Musicians

  • sanctuary choir

    • Our Sanctuary Choir assists in leading the congregation in Christ-exalting worship in choral praise.  This choir is for anyone, age sixteen and over, who can sing, learn music, and is able to sing “parts.”  The choir rehearses Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:15 pm.  Members regularly sing in the 9:00 am classic worship services and occasionally at the 10:30 am contemporary service.  The choir also participates in special worship services during the year such as Christmas, Missions Conference, Holy Week and Vespers.

  • Offertories/Special Music

    • Vocalists and instrumentalists are used each week in the worship services for offertories and special music. Interested individuals may contact Clare Boyer for an audition and scheduling. These musicians have typically demonstrated a commitment to the worship ministry in other areas such as choir, praise band or orchestra.

  • worship team

    • The Worship Team consists of talented vocalists who lead the popular praise songs played by the Praise Band.  Vocalists must be able to sight-read and create their own part/harmony.  Participants must be independent enough to practice and learn the music on their own in addition to practicing with the rest of the team.  Vocalists also must have demonstrated commitment to the music and worship community by consistently participating in choir, drama, or graded children’s choirs.  This team is chosen through audition and interview.  They will participate in the contemporary services on a rotating basis as well as special services and outreaches such as Christmas and Easter.

  • children's choirs

    • Children ages Kindergarten through 6th grade can participate in choir.   The goal for children’s choir is to give kids the opportunity to learn great Christian music that tells the story of Jesus.  We want them to develop their ability to praise through music and drama.  The children typically present one or two 30-minute musicals throughout the school year in addition to singing during all services two or three additional times throughout the year.  Choir practices are every Wednesday evening from 5:55 pm - 6:45 pm.  Children are asked to consistently attend in order for them to learn their music and to be ready to present in front of a large congregation.

These choirs are instructed by devoted volunteer directors who are assisted by other parent volunteers and those who love to work with kids.
Raindrop Choir – Kindergarten Director – Kesha Miller
Sunbeam Choir – 1st grade – Director Ann Deane
Promise Choir – 2nd and 3rd grade – Director Michele Leverenz
Rainbow Choir – 4th-6th grade – Director Mary Beth Eiter

Choirs are on break for the summer.  Registration for the 2008-2009 school year for all four choirs is on September 10, 2008.  Please contact Kay Larson if you are interested in either registration information or if you are interested in assisting with one of the choirs.

  • instrumental Musicians

    • The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: ‘He is good; his love endures forever." Then the temple of the LORD was filled with a cloud’” 2 Chronicles 5:13NIV

We know that everyone praises God differently.  It is our goal that through the use of instrumental music, we can draw closer to God and bring Him glory.  Musical instruments can inspire listeners to a greater awareness of God by allowing them to feel the Spirit through sound.
