We have been on a house selling journey in 2011. Starting last winter, we went through every cabinet, drawer, closet, etc to closely scrutinize every item: keep or give away. We ended up with enormous piles of things that we didn't use, but were in great condition. My mission was to find persons/groups that needed these things, so we could directly give them away with no red tape involved. It was amazing to find some of these groups that God led us to. Of course, Berean's Kids Closet was a beneficiary of no longer needed grandchildren items. However, finding Neighborhood House (teaches immigrants how to cook, read, etc) and Hope Chest (benefits breast cancer patients) were really more blessings to us than the items we gave away. Serving & giving to those that are truly in need is such a joy. Upon selling our home this fall, we decided we didn't need our sofa sleeper & matching chair, both of which had been rarely used. So, I contacted some former co-workers that we wanted to give them away to someone who really needed them. Again, God brought forth a single parent of 3 children who had really sparse household furnishings. We ended up giving away over twice the amount of furnishings & equipment that we intended to, but felt it was really God directed to this parent. This parent was so grateful. I say all this not to be at all self promoting, but to show how God will lead directing even small things to go to those that He wants to be the recipients. This is but one example over a period of >30 yrs of God's leading in my life. Ask & you shall receive wisdom & grace.
