Getting Around During Construction
REACH Initiative Continues
BURNSVILLE, MINN -- Honored guests wielded golden spades turning heaps of earth to officially commence the long-awaited building expansion at Berean Baptist Church in Burnsville. Berean's Elder Board Chairman Tim Larson welcomed Burnsville Mayor Elizabeth Kautz and Lead Pastor Wes Feltner to the platform to kick off the groundbreaking ceremony before a large crowd... MORE>>
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2017 CITY COUNCIL APPROVES BURNSVILLE CAMPUS EXPANSION PROJECT
The Burnsville City Council approved our building expansion by a 5-0 vote. We are so thankful for the almost 200 people who came out in support of Berean, for those who babysat so that others could attend, for those who watched proceedings from literally all over the country, and for those who took the time to write letters, send emails, and make phone calls on behalf of this project.
We are thankful for our Mayor and Council Members who have spent countless hours in review of this process and for the city planning team who worked tirelessly to make sure that we were submitting the best possible plan. Thank you for praying and for being faithful. We give praise to God for his orchestration of this entire process. He has been glorified throughout this journey and it is because of Him that we move forward.

Part of moving forward includes rebuilding our relationship with the Interlachen Woods Neighborhood. We made a public commitment to them and to the City Council to continue efforts to eliminate Berean traffic through their neighborhood (via Innsbrook Lane). Please continue to adjust your travel patterns to utilize Grand and Portland Avenues.
JOIN OUR PARKING TEAM!
One very practical way we intend to keep our promise is by forming a parking ministry team. Well before concern was expressed by our neighbors, Pastor Wes had parking ministry on the top of Berean’s First Impressions Team 2017 priority list. It makes sense
since the parking lot is our first point of contact to those who arrive on our campus. We want to ensure an excellent experience for regular attenders and first-time guests.
Now we have made a commitment to our neighbors and the city council to provide organization and safety in and around Burnsville’s campus, abating traffic flow through Interlachen Woods.
We need you! Join our new parking ministry today. Commit to at least one, 45-minute shift rotation before or after weekend services. Come alone or bring a partner – or sign up together with a group! We will train and outfit you. It’s hospitality and safety all at once. This unique, outdoor serving experience is a new way to provide for the growth and expansion of Berean, and we think you’ll have a ball doing it. We are challenging every person in our FaithFamily to get involved in the REACH Initiative through praying, giving, and serving. We want 100% participation because a unified body fervently following the will of God will impact our community in unimaginable ways. This initiative represents the next chapter of where we are going at Berean. REACH is not a small step, but the next big step into a new chapter God is writing for Berean. We believe this is where He is leading us; the Lord is using Berean by bringing more and more people to us to be transformed by the gospel.
